Dr Pallabi Kalita Hui

Assistant Professor, Bio-Technology

Research Areas: My area of interest is Phytochemistry, Drug Discovery, Drug Designing and working with innovative projects. Presently, I am working on two divergent  fields. My first project is on medicinal plants targetting Breast Cancer and second on preparation of Fruit Wine with high nutritional utility. Focussing on Secondary Metabolites and the efficacy of food plants basically.

Has undergone PhD under the able guidance of Professor Ashis Kumar Mukherjee, Director IASST, Guwahati, Assam (Presently), Professor, Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Tezpur University, Assam on the topic "Evaluation of nutritional potential of some aquatic weeds of North-East India for

formulation of fish-feed for Indian Major Carps" from the Department of Biotechnology and Molecular Biology (MBBT), Tezpur University, Napaam, Assam.

2. Fellowship  awarded  by  the  Department  of  Science  and  Technology  (DST), Government of India, New Delhi under the “Women Scientist Scholarship Scheme for Societal Programmes (WOS-B) (2008)”. Stood Eight (8th) Rank out of 155 candidates screened in from all over India and first (1st) rank in North East India.

3. UGC-RGU  sponsored  Overseas  Conference  Fellowship  to  present  paper  in International conference “Aquaculture Europe 2007” held at Istanbul Expo Centre, Istanbul, Turkey, from 24th – 27th Oct. 2007
