NIT Arunachal Pradesh is a 1.1 institute under TEQIP-III project and the total fund allocated is Rs.15.00 crs. The Institute successful carried out the project by fulfilling almost all the parameters and objectives of the project as defined by the NPIU.
As per the objectives of the project, we would like to mention few achievements under the project:
1. The performance auditor grade for the year 2019 is1.49
2. Development of various Labs for UG/PG and Research purpose
The project helped the institute in developing and upgrading in different Labsfor academic and research purpose. To name a few -
Numerical Computation Laboratory, Physics Laboratory, Fuel Testing Laboratory, Reaction Engineering Laboratory, Vibration Analysis of Structure Laboratory, Central Instrumentation Facility, Advanced Environmental Engineering laboratory, Tribology Laboratory, Two Phase Flow and Boiling Laboratory.
Also with the support of the TEQIP-III, a number of new equipment and software has been added to the laboratories of various Departments:
3D printer along with desktop computer, Drone with all side obstacle avoidance system, OLED and solar cell simulation tool, 100 MHZ digital storage oscilloscope, PCB prototyping machine, Tribometer, FT-IR, Universal testing machine (2000 kN), Vapor compression set up, Vibration set up, Diesel Engine set-up, Goniometer, High Speed Camera for Flow Visualization.
Start-up Cell and Innovation Centre (Prakousol), set up under TEQIP-III, has conducted many workshops by inviting industry and academic experts.
3. Achievements under student activities
The student hasgot benefited in undergoing summer and winter internship at different industries/ organizations/institutes with support from TEQIP-III. This helped them a lot in developing the technical skill on their subject domain. The institute successfully provided the GATE training to the UG final year students. Under the Equity Action Plan of the project, remedial classes were arranged for the weaker student, which ultimately helped them to cope up with the peers.Also, under this project, Employability training and test were conducted for UG students.Career counselling is also carried out on time to time basis to upgrade and nourish the students for their employability. Students also participated in various activities including Hackathon, Conference, Workshop, Seminar, Techfest, etc.Induction programmeis also conducted for the first year B.Tech batch. Approximately 620 students of UG, PG and PhD students have benefitted under TEQIP III.
4. Achievements under Faculty and Staff development activities
For quality improvement of the faculty members several FDP/short term courses/workshops were conducted at Institute with support from TEQIP-III and also many had attended the same in other institute also. The Institute has sanctioned 38 numbers of seed grant research projects to encourage the young faculty members to undertake research. Many faculty members have completed or undergoing SWAYAM/MOOC courses. Also many staff members have got the opportunity to undergo training in office procedures as well as Executives Development Programs across India. Many twinning activities of students and faculties were held with the mentor institute.
5. Development and modernization of Infrastructure.
Under the project TEQIP-III, the Institute upgraded the class room with modern equipment and also a Technical Enabled Learning (TEL) Center is developed.
