Individual Counselling:
This is the prime activity of the ‘Counselling Centre’. Students from different Post Graduate and Under graduate Departments may come to the Counselling Centre for personalized individual counselling. Group Counselling:  
While individual counseling provides the opportunity to meet with clients on a one-on-one basis, group counseling offers the unique chance for group members to share their similar situations for mutual growth. Group counseling sessions are usually the most effective method for addressing various interpersonal issues, including loneliness, shyness, excessive dependence, frequent arguments, difficulty trusting others, discomfort in social situations, and lack of intimacy.
Common topics addressed in group counselling are social anxiety, performance anxiety, culture shocks, identity crisis, self-esteem, career opportunities, etc. Some of the important topics of Group Counselling may be..

Crisis Intervention
Psychological emergency situation is a state where an individual's usual style of coping with the ongoing problems is no longer effective. Most people affected by emergencies will experience distress (e.g. feelings of anxiety and sadness, hopelessness, difficulty sleeping, fatigue, irritability or anger and/or aches and pains). People with severe mental disorders can be especially vulnerable during and after emergencies and they need access to basic needs and clinical care.
In such cases we may offer Psychological first aid and immediate contact the medical professional and refer the case to an expert psychiatrist.
Some of the Psychological emergency signs:

  • Suicidal statements or suicide attempts
  • Homicidal threats, written or verbal, or attempted homicide or assault
  • Destruction of property or other criminal acts
  • Extreme anxiety resulting in panic reactions
  • Inability to communicate (e.g., garbled or slurred speech, disjointed thoughts)
  • Loss of contact with reality (e.g., seeing or hearing things that aren't there, expressing beliefs or actions at odds with reality)
  • Highly disruptive behavior (e.g., hostility, aggression, violence)
