‘KAPILA: Kalam Program for IP Literacy and Awareness
The Hon'ble Minister of Education, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank’ with Shri Sanjay Shamrao Dhotre, Minister of State, Ministry of Education (MoE) inaugurated the function on 15th October 2020.
Under this program and as a first step, “IP Literacy Week” is being organized during 15 - 23 October 2020 to celebrate the birth anniversary of a visionary and well-acclaimed proponent of Innovative India, Former President, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.
To overcome the current limitations in our innovation ecosystem especially in our HEIs, a systematic holistic effort ‘KAPILA: Kalam Program for IP Literacy and Awareness’ is proposed which will create appropriate awareness regarding the need for IP filing, mechanism and methodology involved in filing IP in India and globally, especially amongst students and faculty of higher education institutions.
KAPILA is expected to help establish the much required IP filing ecosystem in a large number of educational institutions and thus create a culture of systematically protecting new ideas, research, and innovation having national and global relevance.
The objective of this initiative is to recognize, facilitate, and felicitate the Intellectual Property, innovations, and best practices in HEIs.
