5-Day Hands-on Workshop on 5G, Drone Making, and Flight Technology 23rd – 27th SEPTEMBER 2026. Centre for Mechatronics and Drone Technology (CMDT) DESIGN • BUILD • FLY • INNOVATE A proud moment as the Centre for Mechatronics and Drone Technology (CMDT) was inaugurated at NIT Arunachal Pradesh by Prof. Mohan V. Aware, Director, NIT Arunachal Pradesh. The Centre is founded by Dr. Sahadev Roy with a vision to promote hands-on learning, innovation, research, and entrepreneurship in drone technology, mechatronics, robotics, AI, embedded systems, and 5G applications. The inauguration was complemented by a 5-Day Hands-on Workshop on “5G, Drone Making and Flight Technology”, where students explored the journey from Design, Build, Fly and Explore 5G Use Cases with Nabhastra Private Limited. Participants learned drone technology and flight techniques under the guidance of Colonel Lakshyajeet Singh Chauhan (Retd) & Mr. Swaroop R. K A special highlight was Prof. Mohan V. Aware personally operating a drone during the live flight demonstration, inspiring students to learn emerging technologies through practical experience. A new journey begins at NIT Arunachal Pradesh.
